The Pearl of Bon Secour has finally moved to where it belongs: the water’s edge. The Tin Top Restaurant & Oyster Bar has shifted from its old highway hideout to a new riverfront location that feels less like a commercial venue and more like a local institution. The approach takes you through the heart of a working fishing village—expect to share the channel with shrimpers and navigate through a heavy concentration of crab traps. Once you tie up, you’re greeted by a rustic, Lower Alabama atmosphere where the West Indies Salad is an heirloom recipe and Sunday Brunch may become your weekly staple.

The Captain’s Log:

Coordinates: Bon Secour River (30.3015° N, 87.7402° W) | 17451 County Rd 49 S, Bon Secour, AL | (251) 949-5086

Navigation: Approach depth is ~4–5 ft. Stick to the channel markers in the river to avoid submerged traps.

Docking: Fresh Timber, and great slips. Bring your fenders, and dock to maximize room for boaters arriving after you.

The Order: West Indies Salad, Stuffed Mushrooms, fresh catches, or any of their premium steak selections.

Pro Tip: Request the outdoor covered deck for the best river views and a breeze. Before you leave the area, grab even more fresh seafood at Aquila Seafood or Billy’s Seafood to cook at home. And don’t forget about the new County Boat Launch across the river on County Road 6!
